So the best time to purchase Medigap is to do this “during your Medigap Open Enrollment Period” to ensure you get coverage even your currently have health problems. Again this period is “automatically started” the same month you turn 65 and then enrolled in Medicare Part B. Generally an insurance company is permitted to use medical underwriting to determine if they will accept your application as well as how much to charge you.
