Understanding Medigap and all of the different policies associated with it isn’t always easy, and it’s something that also confused me for quite some time. However, in this post, I’m going to share a few things I’ve learned.

First of all, it’s important to remember that Medigap only works with Original Medicare – and it isn’t compatible with Medicare advantage plans.

Also, you need to remember that Medigap does not cover drugs either, so if you want to cover prescriptions you need to take out a separate plan in most cases. However, one of the main perks is that it does come with a highly deductible plan, which gives you great flexibility for customizing your own cover.
